Atc scm25a4/28/2023 I will be using ATC monitors until the last day I produce music, I admit to being their biggest fan If I'm in that price range, I may could entertain a used set of Dutch & Dutch 8c's.I also sit in a 5ft triangle my 25’s are on stands behind my desk. I don't mind saving for the 25's if that's where I'll end up anyway. I sit about 4-5ft away from my current monitors. Honestly, I didn't even look at the 25's as they're just way too expensive for me. I took this as my room would likely do well with the 25's without a sub? An ATC sub would likely be too much room excitement in the low end (which is currently well controlled) and unnecessary imho. It’s like X-ray vision into an arrangement and mix, personally as excellent as the 20’s are, I just didn’t get that incredible mid detail from them as I get from the 25’sīut ymmv so you simply have to try them both, you may have a different story to tell than mine.īy the way, my well treated room is 4m length x 3m width so that’s about 12 feet x 9 feet (ish) and the 25’s are the perfect size. To my mind, it’s the mid driver that is the star of the ATC marquee. (yeah, I know).I know it’s a huge PITA but you have to make the effort to demo studio monitors - it’s such a critical decision.įor me, when I demoed the 20’s and 25’s the 25’s won hands down because of the incredible dedicated mid driver on the 25’s. I'm working on a lot of trailer music lately.Ĭurrently using Presonus Sceptre 6's with a sub. ![]() ![]() That's decided.Ĭan someone please confirm if ATC 20's are going to be big enough for a 12' x 14' x 15' treated room? Through all the great, Info, and entertaining exchanges, I'm STILL on the fence between purchasing SCM20asl vs 25's.
